The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.” – 1 Samuel 3:10
What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. – 1 Corinthians 14:26
A healthy church is not one where a single pastor or small group of people are the sole mouthpiece for what God is speaking, but rather one where the whole community is in passionate relationship with God, listens for his voice, and shares what God is doing and saying for the encouragement and building up of all.
We want to know – what has God been doing in your life during First Seek? How has he been moving in your heart? What has he been communicating to you for your own liveliness or for our community? We would love if you shared by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org – put the word SHARE in all caps in the subject line.
Set aside 10 minutes or more today to pray:
- Spend 5 minutes listening, allowing room in your heart for the Holy Spirit to speak
- Spend 5 minutes responding to what God speaks, or praying that God would breathe new passion into people’s prayer lives. Think of 5 specific people each day, or the same 5 for the whole week.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.
